A Bible Teaching Church in Battersea
The Sunday Service is the main event of New Life Church Battersea. It’s where our diverse community gathers to focus on Jesus and his good news – the gospel. Whoever you are, whatever your past or present, you are welcome to join us each week as we worship the King of Kings.
What Happens DUring our sunday service?
We worship Jesus through song and praise, Bible readings, prayer, and the preaching of God’s word. If you are looking for an expository church in Battersea, then come pay us a visit. Afterwards we serve refreshments, and once a month we share a lunch for anyone who wants to stick around
KIDS WORK
We love to see children get to know Jesus for themselves and to grow as his lifelong followers. That’s why we run age-appropriate programs for kids where they can learn about Jesus, make friends and have fun! Sessions include learning from the bible, games, and different crafts. Our team of church family volunteers make every effort to safely and engagingly teach the kids about the good news of Jesus.
We have two groups that meet for part of the Sunday service:
- New Life Tots for pre-school age toddlers
- New Life Kids for primary school age children
If you’re visiting, you’d be really welcome to join us! When the kids leave partly through the service, first time parents and carers will need to register their children in their groups as part of our child safety policy.
We take the safety of our children and young people very seriously, and want to create safe places where they can flourish. Our safeguarding leads and guidelines are detailed in our policy, linked here.
Matthew
“No matter your background, no matter what you think you’ve done in your life, the the way that you think you might have messed up the mistakes you’ve made, here you will find hope. You’ll find forgiveness.”
Celena
“There’s a warmth here and a love I think that people will sense the moment they walk in.”
Why do we meet together to worship?
The Bible encourages believers to meet together as a means of listening and responding to God’s word. Gathering in person is also a way by which we can encourage one another “towards love and good deeds” as we await the wonderful return of Jesus.
Attending and serving in a local church does not make you a Christian, any more than attending a hospital makes you a doctor, but it is an important way in which we respond to the forgiveness and Grace of God, and a means by which we can use our gifts to serve God’s people.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:23-25
Our Values?
Our Sunday Service in Battersea is a tangible expression of our four core values: Gospel, One People, On Mission, and Dependent on Prayer.
- GOSPEL: Everything centers on the good news of Jesus. Our message and songs remind us we are flawed and can’t earn God’s favour. Jesus paid for our forgiveness on the cross, guaranteeing eternal hope.
- ONE PEOPLE: In lonely London, Jesus gives us a new family. New Life Church
- DEPENDENT ON PRAYER: We rely on God in prayer for provision, life-change, and comfort, and are amazed when He answers.
- ON MISSION: The hope we found in Jesus is too good to keep quiet. Our Sunday gathering equips us to share this message of hope with love and good deeds in our locality.
